Get started

Welcome to Clear. Here's how to turn it on.

Clear connects to the tools you already use — your accounting, your ELD, your load board — so your back office runs itself. There's nothing to install and no new hardware. Setup takes about 30 minutes, and it's mostly clicking “connect” and authorizing. We never ask for your passwords: connections use secure authorization you control, and you can revoke them anytime.

What to expect

No install. No hardware. About 30 minutes.

This page is your onboarding manual. Read it once and you'll know exactly what happens, in what order, and why. The whole job is connecting the tools you already run to Clear so the work that used to eat your evenings starts taking care of itself.

You don't download anything. You don't buy a device. You sign in to services you already pay for and click “approve.” Most fleets are connected in a single sitting. Where a step takes longer — the load board is the usual one — we say so up front and your Clear contact does the heavy lifting with you.

What to have ready

Grab these before you start.

Have these on hand and the connect steps go fast. Nothing here is unusual — it's the same access you'd use to log in yourself.

  • Your MC and DOT numbers, and your legal company name.
  • Admin access to your QuickBooks Online account.
  • Admin access to your ELD account — Motive, Samsara, Geotab, Verizon Connect, or whatever you run.
  • Your load board login — DAT and/or Truckstop.
  • Your remit-to address for invoicing.

The steps

Five steps, in order.

Each one explains what it is, why it helps, and how to connect it. Do them top to bottom — later steps build on the earlier ones.

1

Tell us about your fleet

What it is
A short form to start: your MC and DOT numbers, your legal company name, the equipment you run, and the lanes you work.
Why it helps
This is the foundation. It lets Clear pull your public safety record, match your authority, and set up your account the way your fleet actually operates.
How to connect
Fill out the short intake form your Clear contact sends you. Two or three minutes, and you only do it once.
2

Connect QuickBooks Online

What it is
Clear syncs your invoices, customers, and payments with QuickBooks so your billing and A/R stay in one place.
Why it helps
No double entry. Once QuickBooks is connected, an invoice raised in Clear shows up in QuickBooks, and a payment in QuickBooks closes the loop in Clear. Your books stay clean without anyone retyping them.
How to connect
Click “Connect QuickBooks,” sign in to Intuit, and approve. That’s it. We only need QuickBooks Online — not QuickBooks Desktop. You can disconnect anytime, and if the connection ever expires, you’ll get a one-click reconnect link.
3

Connect your ELD / telematics

What it is
You grant Clear read access inside your existing ELD account, or complete a guided connect flow. We pull the hours-of-service, location, and vehicle data you already have.
Why it helps
Your ELD already knows where the trucks are and how the drivers are doing. Connecting it means Clear can surface detention, compliance, and maintenance signals without anyone copying numbers off a screen.
How to connect
Authorize Clear from your ELD account, or follow the guided steps your contact provides. No new device and no new hardware — we read what you already collect. Expect a normal short lag between the ELD and your dashboard; that’s the data syncing, not a problem.
4

Connect your load board

What it is
Connect DAT and/or Truckstop so the loads and rate data you work from flow into Clear.
Why it helps
Your load board is where the freight lives. Bringing it into Clear means your team works one screen instead of three.
How to connect
This one can take a little longer, because the load boards require a signed integration agreement and the right subscription seats on your account. Your Clear contact walks you through it. Truckstop needs Load Board Pro plus a signed integration agreement. DAT needs the right subscription seats — including RateView if you want rate data.
5

Billing

What it is
How Clear bills you for the service.
Why it helps
Plain and predictable, so there are no surprises.
How to connect
Clear bills you by invoice, net-30, payable by check. Card and ACH self-serve are coming later. Your first invoice arrives after onboarding — not before.

So we're clear

What Clear does not do.

Trust comes from knowing the edges. Here's what Clear stays out of — on purpose.

We don’t sell or require new ELD hardware.

Whatever ELD you already run is fine. We read it; we don’t replace it.

We don’t log into your load board on your behalf without authorization.

No scraping, no sharing of credentials. Connections are official, customer-authorized integrations — the load board knows we’re there because you said so.

We are not your compliance system of record.

We surface and organize your data so it’s easy to see and act on. You remain responsible for compliance.

We don’t move freight money.

No factoring, no settlement. Clear organizes the paperwork around your money — it doesn’t handle the money itself.

Security & control

You hold the keys. Always.

Secure authorization

Connections use OAuth — the same approve-and-grant flow your bank uses. We never see or store your passwords. The tokens that let Clear read your data are encrypted.

Revoke anytime

You can cut off access at any time — from the connected service directly, or by contacting us. We store the derived values we need to do the work, and we honor your data-handling expectations.

In plain terms: you grant access, you can take it back, and nothing about your accounts changes hands. Clear works with your tools because you allowed it to — and only for as long as you want.

Ready when you are.
